Torben and Phoenix are currently missionaries in training with Go To Nations, and are called to disciple men in East Africa. They met each other at Charis Bible College as they were pursuing their God-given calling and got married in July 2023.
Torben grew up in Germany and gained experience in missions through ministering in refugee camps and several mission trips to the Middle East and East Africa. His passion is to see men being restored in their heart, helping them to get to know Jesus as their personal King and to equip them for their individual calling.
Phoenix was born in Guyana and came to Christ at age 14. From early on, she felt a calling to full-time ministry and gained different ministry experiences in her faithful service in her local church. Her heart beats for discipleship, helping others to experience their freedom in Jesus, and equipping them to live out their purpose.
They completed their Missionary Orientation and Preparation training in February 2024 and are going to their internship in the Philippines from Sept.-Nov. 2024. Afterwards they will be sent out to their 2-year apprenticeship in Kenya. Torben and Phoenix's goal is to start a discipleship ministry in East Africa, with a focus on raising men that fulfill their purpose in the completion of the Great Commission. This will be accomplished through an apprenticeship program, physical training and exercise, outdoor activities and missions.
