Serving In: Global Missions Center

Jim was raised as a typical Presbyterian young boy in Indianapolis, Indiana. He went to church every Sunday, but had no knowledge of Jesus Christ. When he was about 15 years old in the 9th grade, someone gave him the book “The Greatest Thing in the World” by Henry Drummond, about I Corinthians 13, the love chapter.  It had a huge impact on his life and for the first time he began to think about a God who loved him. He really wanted to know and understand the love of God in his own life so he started going to other churches even though his parents did not want him to go. He attended Young Life and this lead to true salvation in the spring of 1973.

Jim attended a meeting of young Christians at Northwestern University. They prayed for Jim and he received the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues and for the first time, he felt God’s fire. He felt like a burning fire was placed in his stomach and to this day, it is the most important event that has ever happened in his life. He soon prayed in the Holy Spirit.

Jim wed his late wife, Eliza, in February of 1975 and they have 10 children and 18 grandchildren. Jim worked in industrial sales and real estate which led them to Florida where God turned their lives upside down. They sold their home, got rid of most everything they owned, moving forward to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. Today, Jim serves at Go To Nations Global Missions Center in Discover Missions and Frontier Missions to reach the unreached peoples of the world, teaching them through disciple making movements, and touching as many people as God puts in his path.
