M492: Herbert & Emily Habacon

Send a Note Add to Prayer Start a Fundraising Campaign
Serving In: Asia

Herbert and Emily began their missionary ministry serving in Iloilo City, Philippines. Since 2014, Emily has worked with the Camp Sonshine Center, serving as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator as well as equipping the teens in their roles as leaders of the Kid’s Clubs. Herbert worked with a fellow missionary developing a training area for natural farming and business as a platform for helping the underprivileged learn how to provide for their families and be discipled.

In 2020, due to the worldwide shut-downs from Covid-19 outbreak, they have been serving in the US as they deal with paperwork and travel complications because of the shut-downs. However, as of November of 2023, the paperwork issue has begun to be resolved, and they are beginning the process of preparing to return to The Philippines.

Current Ministry:

While in the US, they have partnered with a church plant in Weatherford, Texas, called Today.Church. They have served in many capacities, as worship leaders, children’s church director, on the leadership team, and house church leaders. They are focused on seeing a Disciple-Making Movement start in Weatherford and throughout the United States.

Emily has also served as the Missionary Kid Care Director for Go To Nations since 2019, and has developed different avenues for parents, teens, and children to discover the challenges of missionary kid life, and learn how to turn those challenges into opportunities for growth as healthy missionary families.

Future Ministry:

Upon returning to The Philippines, Herbert and Emily plan to purchase land for a farm, with the purpose of creating a training space to bring in local Filipinos, teaching them natural farming techniques, and how to walk with Jesus on a practical level, with the goal of seeing Community Transformation take place.

Simultaneously, the farm will be used as a platform to reach the unreached of the world, by providing churches and missionaries opportunities to be trained and equipped into fulfilling the Great Commission, through farming and making disciples that make disciples.
