Victor and Kathie met while doing missions in China. After marriage and additional training, they brought their young family to Russia. They have over 25 years of ministry experience as church planters and mobilizers in the Slavic world; the most recent assignment involved leading a Russian team to plant churches in the Republic of Buryatia, located in Eastern Siberia. New Testament Church became the first cross-cultural church plant for this particular Russian network of churches, and is serving as a model for continued work among the Buddhist and Animist peoples of Siberia. As a spiritual mother and father, Victor and Kathie have the vision to see a multitude of spiritual children sent forth to the nations. To further facilitate the vision, in August of 2015, the Barousses relocated to Go To Nations Global Missions Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Victor’s focus is on developing church planting movements in emerging nations while instilling in them the vision to reach the ends of the earth. He travels extensively as Eurasia Director of Global Pathway and directs a new department called Frontier Missions, aimed a equipping new missionaries to reach the Frontier People Groups of the world. Frontier Peoples are ethno-linguistic groups who have less than 0.1% christian. 87% if these people have never even met a believer in Jesus Christ! A long-term strategy called ITAT (International Teams of Apostolic Trainers) is under development; the goal is to ignite church planting movements in some of these key People Groups. Kathie serves as Vice President of Member Care, leading a team who provide pastoral oversight and counsel to Go To Nations’ field force, helping to ensure that every Go To Nations missionary “in all respects may prosper and be in good health, just as their soul prospers” (3 John 2).
