MAN BEGINS TO SPEAK

MAN BEGINS TO SPEAK

As we have started to visit houses and families in a certain village, we came across a small food shop. They sold fruits and vegetables for the people in the area and we had come to buy some fruit for a family we were visiting. As we exchanged greetings at this shop, we found out the owner was a Christian. In return, we spoke about our desire to come to these villages and spread the love of Jesus and pray for people– especially sick people.

The lady was interested in bringing us to someone who was in need. She told us nearby there is a woman who has been taking care of her husband for some time. One day, he had passed out, probably due to elevated blood pressure, and was out for an hour or so. This did damage to his brain and now he just lays on a bed and breathes. He can open his eyes some, but he is no longer able to speak.

We followed the shop keeper to the lady's home and we spoke to her about our heart to pray for the sick. God still desires to heal people just as much as He did in the life of Jesus 2,000 years ago! We both laid our hands on the husband and started declaring healing over his body. After we stopped praying, the wife started to speak a bit to the husband and to her surprise, he started mumbling under his breath. He hadn't done anything like this in some time so the wife began to excitingly shout, "Speak! Speak!" God was starting to work a miracle in this man.

After we finished praying with the lady and her husband, we set out to leave but the woman stopped us and paused for a moment as she started looking around. We weren't sure what she was doing but finally she told us to wait a moment and she went back to her porch. She grabbed some laundry detergent and handed it to us, telling us she wanted us to have it. She then walked with us a bit and said "Do you like bananas? Eggs?" and ran into her house and came out with a bag of a few eggs and bananas. We realized that she was so touched by what had happened that she was trying to give us whatever she could. She didn't see it as much, but we saw it as very precious. We hadn't asked for anything, yet this woman was trying to pour out what she did have on us, even seemingly little. We accept these gifts not because we need them or anything, but we know what it means to the others to receive them.

Praise God for what He is doing in the lives of the people in this village!
