A MAN SET FREE
Pastor Jeff and Faith Villagomez sent a report about one of the students they taught in Thailand. Jeff and Faith are the Go To Nations base leaders in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The Go To Nations ministry efforts in Thailand operate under Asian Mission Outreach, AMO Foundation.
Pastor Jeff relates: Can an ordinary young man break spiritual strongholds, and cast out a bad spirit? This is a story about a young man named Gao, one of the first students who started attending our youth ministry eight years ago. Gao is from the Hmong Tribe.
Gao is from a Buddhist-Animist background, and he has become a regular part of the youth ministry. He also graduated from our mission training three years ago. Currently, he serves in AMO with the ThaSai community outreach. He is a soft-spoken man but has a very powerful testimony about God’s authority.
He testified in church of how God used him to cast out, and set a man free who was OFTEN POSSESSED by a bad spirit. He prayed for the man in the simplest way he knew, believing that even a little faith can bring a miracle in Jesus' name. (The man was often seen publicly speaking alone, talking to a spirit, or sometimes prohibited to speak anything, or was being commanded by the bad spirit to do things normal people wouldn’t do.) After prayer, the man returned to a normal condition, and was actually given an opportunity to work again!
“When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a WORD...” Matthew 8:16.
What’s amazing with Gao’s story is he went to minister alone. There were no leaders with him, but he knew the power of God! This is what it means to disciple the nations and train the local people who serve as the light of Jesus, and to demonstrate the power of God!
