DIVINE CONNECTIONS
I woke up one morning a couple of weeks ago, and as I was having my morning coffee, I received a WhatsApp message from one of the local missionaries who serve in the region whom I had never met before.
The message read,"Our chaplain's team wants to do discipleship training. Discipleship training is the core of all we do. Our pastor is somehow familiar with you and your organization, and he has said you do such training. We'd love to know more about you and what you do, and if our pastor is correct, we'd like to know your willingness to do some training. We have about eighteen young men interested at this point."
The very unique thing about this is that we have no idea who this pastor is! As far as we know, we do not ever remember meeting him in the past. We scheduled a time to meet with this missionary couple and come to find out, the pastor went through a Global Pathway training we did way back in 2018 when we first moved to Eldoret, Kenya!
When I first got this message, I began thinking about all of the discipleship resources God has put into my tool belt. There was everything from Global Pathway, John Maxwell's Million Leader Mandate (I'm a certified trainer), Leadership Training International (also a certified trainer), as well as Go To Nations' Calvary Bible School which I have taught in extensively since 1996. I have directed Calvary Bible Schools as well.
I spoke with the missionary couple for a very long time that day about the different aspects of how I could help them. I detailed every training program I have access to and what each entails. At this point, this couple would like to have a Bible school, so we are looking into what it would take to have a school here in Kenya. We haven't done a Bible school here in the past, so this would be a first for us! Please agree with us in prayer that we will find it feasible to do Bible training with these young men.
How this all came about really is incredible for Veronica and I. We've never had someone who we didn't know personally reach out to us like this. From this pastor who went through Global Pathway back in 2018, to the missionary couple reaching out to us–all incredible to us how God works! More Lord!
