FAITH LIKE A CHILD
My friend Martha recently shared a testimony with me that encouraged me regarding what we are doing with our children's outreach. She shared about her village in the mid-west of Nepal and how when she was growing up there, there was only one church. She went to visit recently and there are now 10 churches! The story of how one of the churches started was powerful.
There was an eight year old boy who heard about Jesus and church when he went to an outreach event that a church was conducting. He was interested and started going to church each week and he put his faith in Jesus. He wouldn't tell his family that he was going to church but his grandfather noticed that he was leaving the house the same time every Saturday (churches here meet on Saturday). He had also noticed that his grandson's behavior was changing, so one Saturday he decided to follow him.
The grandfather sat outside of the church and listened when his grandson went inside. He continued to follow the boy to church each week until eventually he also sat in the church with his grandson and he put his faith in Jesus too. The boy's dad and mom, after seeing the change in their son and father, were soon to follow. Now that boy is 16 and his father has planted a church in their area.
We are believing that as we minister to the children, their lives will be transformed and, in turn, their families and community will be transformed as well! Please pray with us for this to become a reality as we share the gospel with the children.
