Michael & Ahxiang Biggs, Thailand Missionaries
For most of our tenure in Thailand, Michael has used translators to speak to the locals about anything related to the Gospel. However, the Lord recently put it on his heart to start sharing all he can in his own Thai. As he has stepped out, he has shared the story of Jesus with locals, shared stories of healing testimonies, and even started discipling a local believer speaking Thai on his own. Mae Lah, pictured above, has been with us and our team for several years. Before, she was a staunch Buddhist, but God got a hold of her heart. Over the past years, she has turned her heart to the Lord and started sharing with others in her village. In time, Michael saw how Mae Lah shares with others and has been helping her improve in this area. Just in the past few weeks, she shared the Gospel with a lady walking by her home that had been hard to share with before. The result was a miracle! The whole story is shared below. God continues moving in Mae Lah's life, and she grows in her love for the Lord and others.
Yaye Oey (Yaye means grandmother) is the relative of one of our youth. We have had a heart to share with her the Gospel and see the whole family come to Jesus. We invited her to a family day at the church to experience God restoring families. They called to pray for anyone sick during the altar call after the message. Yaye Oey had been experiencing pain in her back for years now, which caused her not to be able to go to many places. However, as she stepped out and came to family day, she came up during the altar call. She was prayed for and miraculously got healed! Her face was in a kind of shock as she realized the pain she had experienced for so long was no longer there. Praise the Lord!
The second photo is Mae Nong, the lady that Mae Lah shared with that passed by her house. She has been suffering from some shoulder pain that doctors had said they could do nothing to help her. She didn't have any hope that she would be well again. Mae Lah prayed for her, and God supernaturally healed her from the shoulder pain! Since that day, she had been talking all about how all the pain was gone. Mae Nong couldn't stop smiling everywhere and was a joy to everyone she was with. This lady encountered the love from her Father and received eternal joy.
First, the grandmother of our youth who got healed at family day at the church didn't just get healed but also received Jesus as her Lord and Savior! Mae Nong, the lady passing by Mae Lah's house, also accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Then, the father of that same youth finally came to the Lord as well. He had a wild encounter in his life. Late at night, he was leaving a house in his village on his motorbike. As he started the motorbike, it jerked forward and flew straight into a 10-meter-deep pond in front of him. He said that he was capable of swimming, but the clothes he was wearing wore him down considerably. He could not maintain himself above the water. At that moment, he said he felt like giving up on his life. But all he could do was think about his daughter, whom we have been discipling for over a year. As his daughter ran through his mind, he decided to give whatever push he could to get out, and all he could do was stick his hand out of the water. Someone said they saw something in the water sticking out but weren't sure what it was. Something told these people to go and check what it was. As they saw someone needing help, they got together and helped pull him out. Fortunately, he was okay with no injuries—just some moderate head pain from all the water going through him. As we heard this story, we came to his house and ministered to him regarding his life's purpose. God has a purpose for his life and indeed loved him greatly. He was utterly touched by the words God gave us to speak to him. Praise God that he is moving in our disciples' families!
Yaye Sai is the grandmother of one of our other youth. (pictured above, left side in purple) She was a Christian when she was younger but recently returned to God as she saw God transforming her granddaughter and daughter. One night, she was crying so loudly because of desperation for change from depression that her family members could hear her wailing. Her family members encouraged her to seek Michael and Ahxiang to get help finding her way to God. When Ahxiang could talk with her, she gave her heart back to Jesus after decades of being a prodigal daughter. She had SUCH a quick transformation; it was incredible to see. She began to be filled with joy every day, is blessed in her business, and is incredibly excited to share her newfound faith and happiness in the Lord with others.
One day, she asked for Michael and Ahxiang to come over and pray for her. They were in debt because of her late husband, who passed away last year. She asked for us to pray for her debt to be set free. We prayed and earnestly sought the Lord to come in and do a miracle. After one week, she called us back with such excitement that the bank had called her to let her know that the family would not have to pay a single penny of the debt that was owed! God came in and did a miracle for her and her family!
God is still in the business of doing miracles today. Not just healings, but He works in the business of debt just the same! I would say God specializes in giving freedom to those in this area.
Just a few days ago, she was so excited about everything that she asked us to take her to an old friend of hers who was battling cancer. We thought it might be a time to share with her, and we did... but we found that Yaye Sai was so empowered by her encounter with Jesus that she was doing all the evangelizing for us. She told this lady, "If God can erase my debt, He can heal your cancer too!"
