JOHN'S STORY

John is 22 years old. He was severely bullied in elementary school and the psychological trauma caused him to not want to study, causing him to fall back four grade levels. He is currently only finishing his 10th grade in a special learning school. His parents did not know if John would be able to work or have a normal life. There are not employment opportunities in his Asian nation for situations like this.

His father and mother came to faith through our ministry more than three years ago. John received salvation and was water baptized at the same time as his mother. Since that time, he didn’t really join any of the discussion Bible studies with the other youth because of his shyness and lack of ability to communicate. In 2025, I purposely had a weekly discussion group in their house so that John was obligated to join.

Around June of 2025, John started to have headaches behind his left eye and they became increasingly worse. After free medical tests at the public hospital, the doctors determined that there was a nerve behind the left eye that was causing it. There was no mass found, but when the headache happened, the pain caused John to be incapacitated–usually 3-4 days per week.

After numerous prayer sessions, I felt the Holy Spirit lead me to encourage John to do an inner healing Freedom in Christ prayer guide in Tagalog. John accepted the challenge. He did it alone with encouragement and gentle accountability. A few weeks after that, John received an infilling of the Holy Spirit right in his home. Then, John started to pray every day and the headaches left and have never returned.

Soon after, John told his mother that he wanted to work. His mother, who never allowed John to go outside of their area alone, was so convinced by the supernatural healing, that she immediately allowed him to start volunteer work at our office. The transformation has been so immense that John, who could not carry on a conversation with anyone previously with any confidence, shared a gospel card with a peer who mocked him previously. The friend remained silent and listened. John joyfully testified to this in front of his parents and myself.

God has a mighty plan for John and will use him for His glory.


JAREN'S STORY

14-year-old Jaren was taught how to share his testimony of faith through our "patotoo" (testimony) card made by Kyle–another young man in my ministry. When Jaren started to share, he started to cry. Kyle said "really cry" but Jaren kept sharing his testimony with tears for 15 minutes. This was in a basketball court area and kids were all around. When the other kids heard Jaren, they gathered around him. Since people do not show sad emotion in public due to a shame in the culture, the kids started giggling. Jaren continued because he is unashamed of his faith in Christ and was overcoming the shame stigma in the culture.

He didn’t grow up in church but Jaren is alive in Christ.
