Mae Da and Paw Ai
As Josh got to know this sweet couple more, he learned that Mae Da grew up with a Christian background and had spent a few years in her twenties studying the Bible with an evangelist. But since then, she hasn’t read the Bible or had any real contact with other believers and eventually married into a Buddhist family. But Mae Da has seen the mercy and pursuit of God in her life. A few years ago, she got sick and was close to the point of death. One day, as she was lying on the floor with hardly any strength to move, she heard a voice telling her to get up and be strong. She believes it was the voice of the Lord.
She and her husband, Paw Ai, have adopted Josh like a son. He’s been able to share the gospel and the Word of God with them and watch as it lights up their eyes with wonder and excitement. They started going to church every week, even showing up early because they enjoy it so much. Mae Da shared her testimony with her sister about what God is doing in her life and invited her to church. She even introduced her to Josh so that he could tell her about Jesus. Our God is personal and knows what each of His children needs. As Josh has shown intentional care and love to Mae Da and Paw Ai, their eyes have been opened to the understanding that Jesus loves them and desires a personal relationship with them!
