Project Details
Honduras Community Development and Training project provides funds for community development projects including construction, water purifiers, vocational training, purchase or lease of property for the purpose of raising food, and facilities for job training. Funds from this account are also used for evangelism crusades, training local leaders to minister to children, and community transformation projects such as "Community Health Evangelism" that serve to improve the living conditions of the poor.
Education is of high importance to this project, since fewer then 25% of Hondurans complete high school. A one-time donation of $45.00 will pay for an entire year of schooling for one child, but thousands of the poorest children cannot go to school because they are unable to afford the uniforms or notebooks required to attend. CDT Honduras works closely with local national pastors to meet the goal of sponsoring 300 children annually from among needy families with hope to expand that number significantly in the coming years.
