Panama Weaving The Word
Panama Weaving The Word
In partnership with Indigenous Memory, this collaborative project invites Guna women to engage in a contextualized Bible study and co-create a 8 x 20 foot Mola—a traditional textile artwork—depicting key stories from Genesis to Revelation.
The project unfolds in five intentional phases: community organizing, Bible workshops, artistic creation, cultural reflection, and public exhibition. Through this process, scripture, tradition, and spiritual renewal are beautifully interwoven into a shared expression of faith and identity.
The completed Mola will be displayed publicly, accompanied by written and audiovisual documentation to honor the journey and voices behind it.
Your support helps provide essential materials, equipment, printing, promotion, facilitator support, artisan offerings, meals, and transportation—ensuring this sacred artform is brought to life with dignity and excellence.
